River habitat survey
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines a river habitat survey as: ‘A survey method designed to characterise and assess the physical structure of watercourses involving the recognition of vegetation types and an understanding of basic geomorphological principles.’
